Around Easter time, some dear wonderful friends gave me this adorable little gift, because they said that it reminded them of “Curbys Closet”. (Now if you have ever been to my house your will know why.)

As I opened the box I squealed with delight! I could not believe it! It totally looked like my little Curbys Closet, with all my little pastel vintage baby dresses hanging on hangers. And it reminded me of the armoire on the Curbys Closet logo. I just could not believe it!

It was just TOO CUTE!! I actually started to cry it was so cute! Here’s a closer look. This is from the “Wee Forest Folk” Collection by the Peterson Family. These are such precious and delightful collectibles. The details are just amazing! And they are so tiny and so sweet!!

It even came in an adorable box! My friends said that when they saw it , that it just had “Curbys Closet” written all over it! Let’s just say that it will be displayed, treasured and loved forever.

Trust me I’m a shopping Queen!!

Here is a sampling of flowers grown in our backyard garden. One of my all time favorite flowers are FOXGLOVES. They are so beautiful and majestic. They always make me think of lovely trumpets.

The flowers that will always and forever remind me of my Grandma Hall are SWEET PEAS. Their fragrance and delicate petals are so sweet. Hey, maybe that’s why they call them sweet peas!!

I love Hollyhocks and I believe that this flower is one of my husband favorites. He is quite the GREEN THUMB gardener!! Some of his Hollyhocks have grown over 7′FT tall.

Flowers really do add such delight and great beauty to any garden. What are you favorite flowers??

Well, I had to face it. Spring is nearly gone and Summer is only a couple of weeks away. So I thought to myself that I should probably take down my sweet little bunny plates, cups, baskets, bowls and tea sets from my kitchen shelf. Spring, Easter and Bunnies are probably now out of season. Time does fly by quickly. I guess its time for Summer, Sunflowers, watering cans and blue birds. And HEAT!! Let’s not forget the HOT, HOT weather that is ahead. Yikes! I guess I will have to be sure and enjoy each and every cool California day.

I am always sharing and showing lots of ideas, new products and many goings on at CURBYS CLOSET. But one thing I realized that I had not shared or featured was my sweet Mom and her many talents.

She has used her crocheting talents to make these adorable receiving blankets. They are made from sweet flannel prints with wonderful crochet trim all around. We sell lots of these OOAK blankets in our Curbys Closet shops at Etsy and Lollishops. Mom has been making these for years and is still going strong at 85 years old!! How about that?

She also makes many of these darling blankets for baby gifts and even more to donate to children’s hospitals and care centers. She is really quite remarkable considering that she has arthritis in her fingers and other health challenges. She is a great example of continuing to keep busy and doing for others.

Happy Mothers Day to ALL women old and young!

Ok, here is my next favorite BLUE thing.

This a a darling bear that my husband gave me when we were dating years and years ago. He got it in San Francisco. She is wearing one of my OOAK vintage hankie dresses. I guess I am still a little girl at heart because I still love dolls and bears.

Today at “CURBY’S CLOSET” we are  joining in with many of the “LOLLISHOP” gals to have a special Valentines Day Tea party. Our hostess today is ” Miss Kewpie Doll” herself.

So please come on in and join us. You can almost smell the yummy desserts and herbal teas. I hope that they are almost ready!

Kewpie has been one busy little girl. There has been so much for her to do.  Come and take a look at all the delicious cakes she has made and how sweetly she has set her table. She has used her finest pink china and of course has invited all her closest friends. There is always plenty of room for more guests, so please sit right down.

Doesn’t everything look lovely!! Soon the guests that Kewpie invited will began to arrive. I wonder who is coming?  Oh, here they are now. The first to arrive is “Vinnie” the vintage baby doll , right behind her is  “Nancy” the little Nancy Ann doll.

Next to arrive is “Cheerful Tearful” she won’t be tearful at this sweet party. Right behind her is the ever popular “Mary Poppins”. I bet she brought the “spoonful of sugar” for the tea!
All Kewpies guests have arrived. Everyone is excited and ready for the Valentines Party to begin. Let’s all take our places at the table. Everything looks so wonderful!

The delicate pastry cakes are delicious!  Would you care for another slice? How about some honey or lemon in your tea? We hope that you are having fun at our Valentines Day tea party.
